American Animal Hospital Association

 

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is an international association of more than 32,000 veterinary care providers who treat companion animals. Established in 1933, AAHA is well known a month veterinarians and pet owners for its standards for hospitals and pet health care. Over 3,000 veterinary hospitals participate in the AAHA hospital evaluation programs. Trained consultants visit these hospitals regularly to ensure compliance with AAHA's standards for service and facilities. Individual veterinarians can also be members of AAHA.

At Boyd's Creek Animal Hospital, we are required to meet over 900 standards of care in order to achieve our certification. We are evaluated in the following areas: Anesthesia, Client Service, Contagious Disease, Continuing Education, Dentistry, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency/Urgent Care, Examination Facilities, Housekeeping and Maintenance, Human Resources, Laboratory, Leadership, Medical Records, Pain Management, Patient Care, Pharmacy, Safety, and Surgery.
